Home of exotic animals such as the marsh deer and the Peruvian piedtail, Huascarán Park, is in the majestic Andes mountain range. Deep ravines and rushing torrents, glacial lakes, rare animals, and luscious and varied types of vegetation define the terrain. The largest snow covered mountain in Peru, also named Huascarán, rises 6768 meters out of the park.
The temperature ranges according to the season with very heavy and abundant rain falls between December and March, while the rest of the year is drier with temperatures fluctuating between 25 °C during the day and below 0 °C at night.
You don't have to be an experienced mountain climber to walk through scenic valleys below mountains of over 6000 meters, but there are some peaks which are only opened to experienced climbers. Huascarán’s spectacular views are the perfect backdrop for popular activities like skiing and horse riding.
