Often overshadowed by more well-known nature sites in Arizona, Chiricahua National Monument is a location that deserves more respect. But maybe it’s the relative anonymity Chiricahua enjoys that makes it so spectacular.

Although camping facilities are not available, the destination makes for a very enjoyable day trip. Hike through one of the trails, and wonder at the chimney-like rock formations. Explore some of the homes left by settlers. No matter what your choice of activity, you will enjoy smaller crowds.

Daily, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. It is closed Thanksgiving Day and December 25.
