Monastiraki market is the best place to shop in Athens. You can find almost everything that represents Greece, the modern and the ancient. From olives and olive oil to sponges and souvenir dolls if the Euzons. There is music coming from every shop and the owners will try to out sought their competitors, making it quite an experience to walk through it. If you do spot something you would like to buy, do not agree to buy the asking price. You have to bargain, the salesperson will enjoy it as much as you! The flea market is located in the very centre of the city and if you look up you will see the Hill of Acropolis. There are various places where you can sit down, rest and try traditional Greek deserts and Greek coffee.
