This building is one of the things tiny Monte Carlo is known for. It's got prime position in this land poor nation, with sprawling fountained gardens in front of it and a steep drop into the bay behind.

The architecture is in the Belle Epoque style – which may as well translate to 'very grand', with a foyer of marble and onyx and gaming rooms just as opulently designed.

There are several unusual points of interest about the casino, the Monte Carlo Ballet shares the building with the gaming and resort businesses, and the opera company, as well as the ballet company, use its theatre: the Grand Théâtre de Monte Carlo.

And the citizens of Monaco aren't able to enter the gaming rooms – despite the room being on their turf.
