Loosdrecht Lake (Loosdrechtse Plassen)

Listed under Lakes in the Netherlands.

The area round Loosdrechtse started off swampy, but with draining and dyking etc., the lakes in this area have become a popular hangout for the jetset, meeting up to their discerning aesthetic tastes. Most of the cafes and marinas are on the lake's northern edge, round Oud-Loosdrecht. There are also some reputable sailing schools, or you can go out on the lake on a larger cruise boat.
