Bavaria's Konigsee (King's Lake) is a gorgeous alpine lake set in a glacier-carved valley near the town of Berchtesgaden. Forget the connection with Hitler (whose retreat known as Eagles Nest offers great views of the area) and take a boat trip across the fjord-like Konigsee and/or enjoy the wonderful hiking opportunities to be found here.
