Kiting West Shore, Llandudno

Listed under Kitesurfing in Wales, the United Kingdom. Rated 9th of all Kitesurfing in the world.

This is one of our personal favourites, we get really excited when the forecast promises a West Shore session which is anything from South Westerly through to North Westerly. West Shore has it all flat water lagoons, a flat water channel which forms in front of a long sand bank, small waves which form as the tide comes and a large flat water area beyond the breakwater appears approx two hours before high tide. To summarise West Shore is awesome, the flat water is ideal for everyone from board starters to those who crave flat water for pulling off sick freestyle tricks. Please check tide times before you visit as it is not kiteable at very high or low water and you will need to obtain a permit to ride here issued by Turbulence extreme sports shop on proof of your insurance. The surroundings are incredible; you have Snowdonia back drop towards Conwy Mountain and Conwy Castle towards the South, and Llandudno’s Great Orme towards the North. This gives an ideal setting for your session. Your nearest toilets are half way along the prom near to the children’s play area and beach wardens hut. The local kiters here are very friendly and approachable, be sure to drop the angels a line if you’re visiting.
