It's no wonder Brazil is gaining a ton of media attention these days. With over 300 km of empty coastline mostly drivable on the sand, there's no shortage of kite spots. It's a downwinders' wet dream. Most kiters stay in Cumbuco as it's only 45 minutes from the airport, but there are so many better, less choppy areas. The best spots in the region are Paracuru, Lagoinha, Flexieries, Prea and Jericoacoara. Each offers its own local feel and variety of terrain. The wind is consistent from July – December with 18-35+ knots as you move up the coast. Brazil has it all: waves, flat-water lagoons and the best downwinders you'll ever experience.
