Good wind consistency.

On one side of Cumbuco are big dunes and on the other flat sea, but the warm air radiating off the dunes builds the wind up - it‘s proper trade wind wind too. Theres miles of flat wide beach to chose a spot to launch from so you shouldn’t get too crowded even if it seems like theres lots of people around town or the hotels. The flat water lagoon is about 5k away and you can usually kite down there if the winds right but then you have to get back somehow. It’s pretty busy with the kite schools but if you go early you should be ok. For the skilled wave lover go up to nearby Paracuru. Locals say the best wind is between June and December - which is a pretty big window - apparently locals kite all year but use bigger kites in the off season, which is still sunny - Cumbuco is pretty much on the equator. There are bars around but Cumbuco is a pretty sleepy place except for the kite crowd.

At Hi-Life Kitesurf School all instructors are IKO level 2 certified and First-Aid certified. You’ll be sure to get plenty of attention and instruction as only two students per instructor are permitted.
