About a thousand people mosey though this rollicking six day ride each July, the fit and adventurous on horseback and the young and those preferring a more relaxed journey in wagons. Everyone equally enjoys the early rises to the smell of outdoor cooking and the sounds of horses waking up and the sights and sounds of being on the road - but in this case the party travels with you. A working cattle drive with a social edge, the annual Kamloops ride is about enjoying the best of the cowboy lifestyle, the stories and music by the camp fires, the outdoor cooking and views of some of Canada’s most remote and dramatic mountain high country. You can hire a horse or bag a spot in a wagon and the attitudes and pace can be so relaxed even beginners are welcome.
