Paros is famous for its many beaches. Paros is close to other islands, some as close as 2 kilometers, and ferries run frequently from the island's harbor. Wind surfing is also a big attraction as many of the straights that are around the island provide great conditions for the sport. The island is a popular getaway and is frequented by many tourists every year. The island not only offers beach life but also has museums that chronicle the islands history.
