Why doesn’t this group of postcard perfect islands and coral cays swarm with tourists? The blend of rustic towns with easy access to the kind of secluded tropical island paradises we all dream about finding and treading the first footprints onto seems worthy of drawing a larger crowd than it does. A lot of the islands in the archipelago are included under the protective umbrella of a national park – so this is the Caribbean before everyone heard about it and wanted to go.

It’s an effort to get there but it’s worth it. The diving and snorkelling is spectacular and the vibe is of ‘The Beach’ but for grown ups.
