Koh Samui

These beautiful islands are set about an hour or two between mainland Thailand and Koh Samui. This cluster of tiny, unpopulated, islands are part of a national marine park and feature the enclosed lake as seen in the film "The Beach".
There are different packages available from tour operators on Koh Samui, but we took one which allowed us to canoe around the islands with a stop off on a deserted island/beach for a spot of lunch.
Stunning scenery and a real physical challenge if you're up to it, alternatively you can just enjoy the trip on a boat that takes you around the islands.

We went to Koh Samui end of Dec 2010, Due to Australia having the rain's etc we had 5 Days of very wet weather, But !! The island is stunning & the people are very friendly, Don't expect things to get done in a hurry cause it's very much a case of "Shuffle of the Shoes" which wasn't a problem, we hired a Jeep & explored the island & there are some beautiful tucked away beaches, You have to have one of the Beach dinners !! The ladies cook on a tiny BBQ on the beach during the day from Sweet corn to fish & chicken .. & Lot's of fresh fruits very cheap ..Take your mosito plug in for the night (Even though) they say you dont need one.. You will..I would definetly go back to this island, in the next few years..Regards Lyn.
