Dauphin Island

Three miles off the coast of mainland Alabama lies Dauphin Island. Although less than 25 square miles in size, this destination offers a laid-back option for people looking to relax.
A variety of attractions are available for visitors, including historic Fort Gaines and the Audubon Bird Sanctuary. Golf courses, boating, surfing, and fishing are available for those keen on athletics, and white sand beaches make for a picturesque setting for a day spent lounging in the sun. Car access to the island is limited to a three-mile long bridge or ferry.
