The island of Chiloé has experienced hundreds of years of geographic isolation, resulting in a culture very different from mainland Chile. A religion incorporating a mix of Catholicism and native beliefs has developed with an emphasis on mythical figures. The food, speech, and architecture is also very unique. Some highlights include touring the many fishing villages on the island and hiking the rainforests of Chiloé National Park.
