The Angra dos Reis region includes 365 islands and 2,000 beaches. Ihla Grande is the largest island in the group and has 86 beaches of its own. This island also housed a prison for 60 years. Today it has deserted beaches, hiking trails, and waterfalls. Another beach in the Angra dos Reis area is De la Figueira which is characterized by its abundance of coconut trees. De Mambucaba beach is also worth visiting. This beach is within the historical center of Mambucaba and gives access to the Church of Rosario.
