Biltmore Estate

Opulence and wealth exude from the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. The actual home is surrounded by multiple gardens of diverse design, which were created by great architects, such as Frederick Law Olmsted. Antler Hill, where many of the families who worked on the Estate once lived, is now used to display historical exhibits, shops, restaurants, and the Estate’s winery.

The grounds of the Estate can only be matched by the luxurious interior. Spacious rooms exhibit priceless antiques. It’s an interesting place that mixes personal facts about the Vanderbilt family with historical background. Try comparing the wealth of the mansion with the poverty seen in surrounding areas at the turn of the 20th century for an eye-opening experience.

While visiting, treat yourself to a meal from one of the Estate’s restaurants and let yourself reflect upon what a life it must have been to live or work in this palatial country home.
