The Hotel Guru Review: Character by the bucketload at this long-time hotel (since 1890s), now owned by two charming Irishmen, Edward Bracken and Con Ring. Walls are plastered with over 5,000 paintings and prints, bedrooms (some small, all recently upgraded) are all different (a minstrel's gallery in one; secret panel in another; Judy Garland's bed in a third). Traditional sitting room for residents; buzzy Bistrot 190 open to all.

190 The Gore Hotel

The Gore Hotel is situated between Knightsbridge and Kensington, opposite Queen's Gates to Hyde Park. It is located just around the corner from the Royal Albert Hall and moments from Kensington Palace. Knightsbridge shopping, including Harrods and Narvey Nichols, is just a short stroll away. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Kensington High Street, the Museums of South Kensington and within easy reach of the West End. In this elegant and romantic hotel, over 100 years of English tradition is discreetly complimented with 21st century technology. Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, you’ll find that behind the old English charm of the Gore is every modern amenity you will need.
