It might no longer be the louche, decadent meeting place it was in the 60s and 70s, but L'Hôtel, with its fabulous circular atrium, is nowadays graced by gloriously extravagent interiors. Choose between compact, jewel-box like rooms and themed suites (if you can bear the tristesse you can sleep in the room in which Oscar Wilde expired beyond his means). There's also a divine candlelit plunge pool, perfect for romantic assignations.
