Conveniently close to the gorgeous but popular Baga beach, but sufficiently off the beaten track to still be restful and unspoiled, Mottant Springs are mineral-rich, freshwater jewels set in cashew tree-clad hills. Believed locally to have medicinal, strength-imparting qualities, these pools and falls are a refreshing change from the beach, and can easily be reached via the small road which leads inland, past the Bom Viagem Convent. Once the site of a Buddhist hermitage, Mottant is still the perfect place for a spot of meditation.
