The two hostel loving ladies who came up with the idea for this hostel, and did a lot of the decorating themselves, call it Europe’s first theme hostel. It’s not the whole hostel that’s in fancy dress, but each room has been decorated uniquely to express some facet of the Rotterdam vibe. So you can stay in the six bed ‘Sports Room’, the eight bed ‘Royal Room’, the four bed ‘Park Room’ or ‘Art Room’, the hyper-coloured six bed ‘Festival Room’, the five bed ‘Dutch Delight’ or the ‘Love Room’ just for two. There are 13 dorms and three doubles to choose from, and if there’s space you can choose your theme.

Live music, a bar and café, TV lounge and a quiet room have added to the fun vibe and you can tell that this hostel was imagined by two people who enjoy the hostel lifestyle of meeting lots of new people and telling stories – some true – about your crazy escapades. You can also tell they really like their home town.

Free breaky could clinch the deal for some people, but this is one of those get out of it what you put into it experiences.
