Hyper designed in bold colours and concious lines, this hostel looks like it could appear in a happier cleaner 'Bladerunner', as long as the set designers shopped at IKEA. Clean wood floors, bright coloured feature walls and bold wallpaper make it look like a fun place to hang out. Oops! does have dorm rooms with bunks, the largest rooms sleeping six, but it's more like a hotel, with only a small common room and shared kitchen and fairly generous bathrooms in most rooms. The free wifi and breakfasts and 24 hour reception could go either way hostel or hotel.
In the 'student' sector, the 13th Arrondissment between Chinatown and the Latin Quarter, the 'design hostel' takes advantage of the cheap and cheerful cafe and restaurants, but carries across some of the less appealing cons of student life, with no alcohol and lights out policies.
