Not some kind of clubbing phrase, Lub D actually means sleep well. But the idea of this being a club-y kind of place shouldn’t be tossed out the window; its reception desk is big yellow and round and the lighting is pretty funky looking. Upstairs in the TV room they don’t just have couches and a TV they have beanbags and flat screen and you can get free popcorn from the café/ bar.
The idea is to push the boundaries of hostel into hotel and though there are dorm rooms sleeping up to ten there are also some features you’d expect to find in a premium hotel – like a theatre that allows you to show your digital photos on the big screen and lots of smooth shiny surfaces. If you stay in one of the twin, double or queen size bedrooms, which all have their own bathroom facilities, it’s supposed to be like staying in a hotel. If your main focus is the expense there are dormitories sleeping eight or girls only dorms, with more generously proportioned bathrooms, sleeping six, eight or ten.
Everyone gets their own electrical socket, reading light and locker to go with free internet access and laundry facilities – not something you’d expect a premium hotel website to shout about but a nice feature for a hostel.
