As well as a restaurant, deli, bakery and a location within the medieval gates of Český Krumlov, this hostel also has a raft they’ll rent you so you can take an afternoon river cruise with one of the lovely things you meet on your travels, and a ping pong table.

It’s the idea of staying in one of the world’s best preserved medieval cities that will have drawn you here in the first place so you may as well set yourself up with views over the city – which Hostel 99’s café terrace will afford you. The building was built as a hospital in the 14th Century and has a loft and attic section which has been converted into dorms, private rooms and apartments. Dorms sleep between three and ten. Downstairs is the restaurant, bar and café, a common room with a fire place as well as a TV with a collection of DVDs and the kitchen.
