Horses have long been a main method of transport on Vancouver Island. There are many suitable trails winding through the rain forested valleys and open farmland. There are also plenty of horse friendly beaches on which to open your horse up and gallop though the surf like they do in the adverts. This is also scenic countryside, as well as beautiful open beaches there are also pretty mountain landscapes. There are many many providers along the spider web of trails and you can have anything from a two hour beginners loping trail ride to the beach gallops above to longer trips, some of the best along the Trans Canada Trail. It’s just really pretty country.
