If you like your hoof beats sunny side up, close to Caribbean beaches, then riding in the Turks and Caicos should satisfy your requisites. T & C is justifiably known for turquoise water and silvery sand. It is also home to a ranch of 21 horses and ponies, started as a rescue operation for a few abused horses. Owner and trainer Camille Slattery loves her animals and it shows in the care she devotes to them. If you are under 200 pounds, you can opt for a one hour or 90-minute trip at a pace determined in advance by the level of the group (no more than 12 at a time). Cost is around; $75 or $90 per person. Camille will tell you what the level is for the period you want to book when you call. “We don't do nose to tail type rides,” she emphasizes. More experienced riders can arrange longer hacks over more adventurous trails. Splendid views of cerulean seas guaranteed, and you are also supporting the rehab of deserving horses.

Claudia recommends Camille's Stables.
