This is wild west ranch and cacti country in the unforgettable Sonoran desert. Most of the outfitters here are old west themed (or else they’re just still doing things the old fashioned way?) so if you’re planning to ride a longer trail be prepared for the whole wild west stories round the camp fire about covered wagons, cattle drives, native American traditions and frontier life antics, shebang. This is a good place to learn to ride and there are plenty of outfitters catering to all skill levels and comfort requirements. The scenery is surprisingly varied, with distant red rock pillars and canyons making up the view to the west, forests to the north, grasslands to the east and cool meadow toped mountains to the south.
