Jhansi’s history dates back to the 9th century and is fraught with rebellions and political strife. Jhansi Fort is an example of this, built in the beginning of the 17th century to help with the War of Indian Independence. Today a number of temples and historic buildings represent centuries of history through their art and architecture.
