Towards the end of June, the beautiful city of Bordeaux starts to buzz and the quay turns into a hustle and bustle of activity as tents are pitched and flags are raised; here comes the wine festival.

Bordeaux Fete le Vin is an unmissable experience for any visitor to Bordeaux; whether a wine connoisseur or not. Tickets can be bought in advance from tourist information and will get you a wine glass, wine glass holder and a book of tickets to be exchanged for wine tastings (great value for money!). You are then free to explore the tents and savor the wines of local vineyards lined up along a 2km strip of the quay. The atmosphere is great, people are there to enjoy the wine, the exquisite views of the river and each others company. A truly unforgettable experience. The festival programme is packed full of events and spectacles, make sure you plan your time well so that you see everything.

Each night is closed by a ceremonial fireworks display, make sure you are there early to get a good spot on the quay as the fireworks have a reputation for being spectacular.
