A few members of the New York Athletic Club founded Winged Foot in 1923 and the name originated from the athletic club’s emblem. Winged Foot is now synonymous with a everything American and it’s a true classic. There is great variety bewteen the holes and each has its own appeal, most particularly the 10th, which is one of the world's best par threes, and the final one, debatably the best closing hole in the USA.
