Pinehurst No.2 opened for play in 1907 and its Donald Ross green sites are the ultimate test, legendary and quite unique. The putting greens are unusually small and demand great control, not least on the turtle-backs, and some of the holes are world-renowned. The 1999 and 2005 US Opens were played here and the course is clearly designed to test the abilities of professionals.
