Oakmont Country Club is one of the big five American Country Clubs, so it can afford to have one of the best golf courses in the US. This difficult course was designed by Henry Fownes and opened in 1903, and is known for being fast and smooth and for tilting and undulating in unexpected ways. Considering the location in the Allegheny River Valley the course has hardly any water hazards and hardly any trees, but the topography is challenging enough for most and the smooth look means you're golfing against a lovely view.

Oakmost has hosted eight US Open events, with the next one planned for 2016. It's a par 71 for members but 70 for the majors, over 7,225 yards.
