Crystal Downs is set delightfully on a headland that is wedged between Lake Michigan and Crystal Lake in America’s Midwest. The course runs partly through open ground and partly through woodland. It has very fast greens, can be extremely windy and incorporates some unusual design elements by Alister Mackenzie, so prior knowledge of the course can be a bonus.
