The man who designed the Cape Kidnappers Golf Course, Tom Doak, said of it "If Cape Kidnappers were a book it would be an epic. Enjoy the game and enjoy the setting [because] you may never play golf somewhere like this again." This recommendation from a man who has designed some of the world's most popular golf courses, is probably only fair: the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand is known for its spectacular topography: it's a coastline of crenelated ridges in bright green shades.  Play takes place along a dramatic cliff top and a great big view of the sea confronts golfers on most holes.

The length of of the 71 par course is 6,400 metres and it's got a reputation that's unforgiving and restrictive to anyone who can't play long and straight off the tee.

what does Mr. Doak think about the safety problem of the players?

There are many holes built on the ridges and at the edge of the cliffs. If the players are not cautious, the safety problem will come out.
