Listed under Golf in Banff, Canada.
The hallowed links of the Banff Springs Golf Club have hosted games since 1911. The 27 hole public course was designed by legend Stanley Thompson and is played in two courses, the “Stanley Thompson 18” and the “Tunnel 9”, which was a later addition and not part of Thompson’s original vision. Nice features like sand traps shaped to mirror the mountainous backdrop, elk roaming freely on the course and a rounding first tee make this a scenic setting. More modern than you would think considering the age of the original design, the upkeep is excellent. You have to pay for the privilege but it’s worth it.
