Augusta is a one word name that means much to anyone who knows anything about golf. This Alistair MacKenzie course opened in 1933 and has been making history ever since 1934 when it started hosting the Masters Tournament. The Masters is one of the four major golfing championships – yet unlike the Open or the US Open it's held here every year so this course is under constant scrutiny from the golfing fraternity.

Let's talk first about the look of the course: it's frankly lovely, green and lined with azaleas and trees hundreds of years old – in fact the holes are named after the trees of shrubs that run along side them. There are few bunkers and several of the fairways look deceptively generous in size, and it's the undulations and contours in the course that make it interesting enough to host a major tournament every year.
