Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh in Jaipur is a beautiful garden, located at a distance of 10 kms from Jaipur, on Jaipur-Agra Highway. It was built as a symbol of love. In 1728, Sisodia Rani Garden was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, with an intention to gift the garden, to his Sisodia Queen from Udaipur. As the name suggests, the Garden was named after the queen, who was beloved to the King.

The structure of the garden is imbibed from the Mughal style of Architecture, which makes it a well-designed garden. Sisodia Rani Garden appears to be designed on the theme of eternal lovers, Radha-Krishna. The garden appeals to the artistic and visual tastes of the visitor with its layered gardens, fascinating fountains, painted pavilions and galleries. The interesting frescos, depicting the exotic scenes of Radha-Krishna, enthrall the visitors for their divine appearance. Many of the walls are covered with pictures of ladies…and the inside was filled with all kinds of artwork as well on the walls. Hand painted flowers were everywhere. The lighting was fascinating and so where the huge glass doors very reminiscent of a glass house. When you stood at these windows you could look out onto a huge patio and then down to the gardens that flowed in front of you with a long water way in the center.

They want to renovate the interior and bring it back to the way it might have been, but being India, this is a huge task with little funds to help support but truly this is a garden worth saving. The building is beautiful.
