Neoclassical in design and featuring more than 10,000 flowers, water features and ornamental shrubs, Hollis Garden, a gift from the Hollis family, chronicles Florida history, from the beginning with an artesian well that brings forth life, through to fruit, vegetable and tropical citrus plants that sustain life to the final beauty of the formal gardens that enhance life, when aesthetics became the new way to garden. It is not a big garden, only a little over an acre, but it is packed with wonderful and sometimes very unusual plants and very historic trees in its 16 garden rooms. The garden is located on historic Lake Mirror accessible from the Lake Mirror Promenade or Orange Street in the City of Lakeland, Florida.
