The Kasbah is the old barracks even pre-dating the French Protectorate of 1881-1956. It has been restored and provides an interesting view of traditional trades of Sfax, in particular relating to the construction and layout of the Medina and the Bourjs (garden forts) in the city's suburbs.

Its two towers provide a great view from the walls - including the main synagogue - and it is one of the few places where you can actually stand on the walls and view the city.

Located in the SW corner of the city. Worth a visit.
