Skala du Port is the military bit of the port, you can tell because of all the cannons. The tower was built by the Portuguese, you might be familiar with the look of it if you've watched Orson Wells' version of Othello.

From here you get a good view back up to the towns fortified ramparts, out to sea to the Île de Mogador and you can look down over the fishing port.
