Nearly 200 meters above the surrounding plains, Chittorgarh Fort could be its own city with the number and variety of its 8th century buildings. Temples, palaces, forts, and towers are laid out over a remarkable 700 acres. The lands were massively attacked on three different occasions throughout the centuries, earning the fort a reputation for being a place of honor and sacrifice.
