The Kola Peninsula in Russia has long been regarded as the destination to visit for anyone seeking an exceptional Atlantic Salmon fly-fishing trip and there are a great many who would say it consitutes the best and wildest salmon fishing on the planet. There are a wide range of rivers to consider ranging from the rugged rivers along the Northern Coastline where the biggest salmon can be found; Kharlovka, Litza, Yokanga, Varzina, Rynda, Kola Rivers.

Further south you have the Ponoi, Varzuga and its tributaries. All varied in charachter and style although these rivers are known for their huge runs of salmon but with grilse being the main target.

The season runs from May-September with conditions varying wildly.

Anglers travel to Murmansk typically via a charter flight from Helsinki. From there helicopters deploy guests of the lodges to the respective rivers
