More than the name suggests, Cape Cod’s Atlantic waters are renowned grounds for striped bass and bluefish. You can also hook tuna, flounder and of course cod. The other good news for anglers is that you don’t need a licence to fish saltwater and even surfcasting can yield results. Bluefish are oily and a grand challenge while striped bass here are just plain big. A popular spot because of the entertaining and varied conditions to fish in and around including flats, inlets and channels which move fish food and fish around, there is freshwater as well as saltwater fishing. Freshwater trophies include trout (rainbow and brown), pike, black and largemouth bass, shad and perch to please fly fishermen. You can also shell - fish.
