Tricky to get to and a long way from anywhere this is a kind of fishing safari with the variety to prove it. Very seasonal but if you get it right you can expect to catch golden snapper, salmon, bream, cod, black jews, flathead, mackerel and of course the mighty barramundi that most people come to Australia to fish for. Leisurely flicking is fine or trolling for the barramundi on the tide. The water is mucky but there was plenty nibbling still. Plan a long stay, it’s too far away from anywhere else to give it less than a week.
