Fishing for salmon in Russia, whilst having the traits of regular Atlantic Salmon fishing has an environment far more remote and extreme than what many fishermen would be accustomed to.

Anglers come to Russia for two main reasons:

1) To try and catch a very large Salmon

2) To try and catch good quantities of Salmon

You can of course achieve both on many of the rivers although typically there will be a strong slant to one or other of those attributes. Size is one of the key draws of the rivers of the Atlantic Salmon Reserve and to stand a good chance of catching a really big fish anglers need to be well prepared, both in terms of equipment, technique and mentality.

The link below to the report-Top 10 Tips for Spring Salmon, based on considerable experience fishing these rivers, will hopefully give anyone visiting the area an edge in achieving there goal.

The Atlantic Salmon Reserve is located on the Northern coastline of Russia's Kola Peninsula. The reserve incorporates the Kharlovka, Eastern Litza, Rynda & Zolotoya Rivers
