Including more than 330 islands and surrounding waters this is fishing ground offers a myriad of varied possibilities. Deep water and protected spots up against or amongst the reefs house an encyclopaedic variety of marine life, some of the most abundant game fish being Giant Trevally, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin and wahoo with sailfish closer in to the shore. If you enjoy a challenge the agile wahoo are known to congregate around Kadavu, where you will find some of the largest fish in the South Pacific. Fiji is a perfect region for casting surface lures and there are many operators vying for this easier business, but there is a type of fish for every preferred method from heavy tackle to jigging, trolling and popping. The waters here are in excellent condition, thought of as quite well stocked and productive and ocean conditions are generally favourable, as is the temperature, scenery and beaches, though the accommodation can be expensive.
