WOMAD stands for World of Music, Art and Dance and is a celebration of the international variety of cultural expression. All WOMAD events are designed for families and feature performances by local and international artists in traditional or indigenous art forms.

The WOMADelaide event showcases artists from over 20 different countries, but focuses on and supports predominantly indigenous Australian projects. As well as enjoying performances, visitors to the three day festival in Adelaide can take part in workshops, learn about and shop for international crafts, sample unusual foods and take in the street theatre and visual arts exhibitions.
