Sumfest, held in Jamaica’s Montego Bay, is one of the biggest reggae festivals in the world. It’s a week long series of summertime parties, events and gigs featuring the cream of the world’s reggae scene. It’s not the beach bonfire gatherings it used to be, but has morphed into a well organised music festival with the beach parties held regularly before the gigs.
Jamaican artists are usually the stars but international acts and some R&B and hip-hop gigs are also featured. The main stage is outdoors and gigs start and finish late in the evening.
