All the flavours of Mexican culture can be found at the San Marcos National Fair, from the traditional agriculture and artisan exhibitions to the National Poetry prize, the cock fights, the rodeos and the bullfights.
The fair is loud, courtesy of its mariachi bands and spicy, care of the food competitions and attracts more than seven million people annually over its three or four week run in April and May.
The most popular events are the bullfights and the beauty pageants where the winner is crowned ’Queen of the Fair’. Mexico’s National Fair dates back to the 17th Century when it was a livestock and agricultural show celebrated over several different locations. It has existed in its current form in Aquascalientes with the bullfighting and cock fights since 1842.

The festival runs between the 18th April and the 9th of May and there's bullfighting almost every day of the fair held at the Monumental Aguascalientes
