Five unforgettable nights of kaleidoscopic colour envelop the Rhine Valley between May and September, setting the river ablaze with processions of brightly lit boats beneath showers of fireworks. Red Bengal lights illuminate the tree-lined valley and silhouette the evocative, gothic buildings, pretty, timber-framed houses, ruined castles and beautiful palaces from Linz to Bonn. Spectators come to enjoy the sheer romance of the scene, as well as the lively local Moselle Valley wine.
